One of the most annoying things with Flash on a dual display setup is that you cannot keep windows open in full screen on the second display. I have 2 x 24” displays and sometimes like to watch flash videos in full screen on my second monitor. But the problem is that as soon as you click on any other window the window goes back to a normal window again.
Luckily there is a solution to this. You need to download a modified file called NPSWF32.dll and place it into the flash directory. On a 32-bit machine this is in c:\windows\system\macromedia\flash and and on x64 system it is c:\windows\sysswow64\macromedia\flash.
You can download the file from here NPSWF32_20100213.zip. I have tested this successfully on a x64 Windows Server 2008 R2 machine running Flash Player 10.0.45.2 so it will definitely work on Win7 and earlier machines.
As always don’t forget to backup the file before you replace it 🙂

I had tried this technique a few months ago and it worked fine, but it hasn’t worked in a while and I was looking for a fix. I tried to re-do the fix, but it no longer works for me. Upon researching the issue, i read that it no longer works on Flash 10. I see that you’re using flash 10 though, so i’m not sure what the issue is. Maybe because i’m using Chrome rather than Opera.
I’ve wasted hours looking for a fix. It seems outrageous that adobe is so stupid that they didn’t include an option for this.
